About the foundation

A practical charity for the Denver metro.

Vitalis Community Foundation of Colorado helps individuals and families move toward stability and independence by removing barriers in the way.

Mission

Helping individuals and families move toward stability and independence through basic needs, housing support, recovery, reentry, life skills, and employment support.

The focus is removing barriers to independence.

The foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Help is direct and practical: housing support, basic needs, recovery, reentry, life skills, and employment support. Nothing on this website is a promise that a particular request will be filled.

Where

We serve the Denver metro, including:

  • Denver
  • Aurora
  • Lakewood
  • Westminster
  • Thornton
  • Northglenn
  • Commerce City
  • Boulder
  • Longmont

How we approach the work

These are the habits that keep the mission honest.

Dignity

We meet people as neighbors. A request is a conversation, and private details stay private.

Practical help

The aim is a barrier that can actually move: housing, food, clothing, hygiene, transportation, or a next skill.

Independence

Support is meant to help a person or family carry stability forward, not to become the whole plan.

A local reach

The work is for the Denver metro communities listed on this site, not for every city in Colorado.

Leadership

The foundation is led by its officers.
